Why Choose a Marriage and Family Therapist?

Most often, people can work through difficulties they are having with a spouse or significant other, perhaps a child, other family member or co-worker. Sometimes though, we may hit a bump in the road, and need a little assistance in dealing with some of life’s issues. Marriage and family therapists (MFTs) are highly trained mental health professionals who bring a family oriented or systems perspective to therapy. MFTs believe that to effect change, individuals and problems/issues must be seen within a context; most often, that context is the family itself.

Research continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of marriage and family therapy in treating the full range of mental and emotional disorders and health problems.  Click on “FAQ” below to view our specialties.
